One Page Starter Website versus WordPress Website Pricing and Details

Note: The details here can be also be applied if you are wanting more than just a one page site – simply add R200 per extra page you require.
You want your own space online, to advertise your work from home business, or other business. You’re ready to offer your work from home or business services or products to all South Africans. You are of the opinion that having your own website is more professional than having a free Blogger blog or a Facebook page, or a free website that is just part of another larger website.

You want your very own .co.za domain name website address, but what are the cheapest options available to you to get started, and what exactly do you get for your money?

The two cheapest options that we at TnT Unleashed (Terry and Tony, owners of this site) offer are a one page starter website, and a WordPress website.

Below are pricing and details of both a one page starter website and a WordPress website. Compare them, and decide which one might be your best option.

A ONE PAGE STARTER WEBSITE FROM TNT UNLEASHED:

Note: We only do one page sites if you register your domain through us and get hosting through us too. (if you want to register your domain and get hosting elsewhere, then an html site designed by us must be at least two pages)

Design of 3 pages for you to choose from, (3 different “looks” for your site [or for the first page if site is more than just one page])
the design based on information and items you give us (emailed to us), such as:

preferred domain name of your site (ends in .co.za);

title of your site (not always the same as the domain name);

your logo, if you have one;

your preferred colours;

your preferred size and colour of text font;

links to sites you like the look of;

text content you send us (we recommend at least 300 words, but even better would be as much as 600 or 700 words) (more chance of Search Engines like Google giving you a better natural search result); How long is 600 or 700 words? – well, to give you an idea, this article is 1 280 words long.

wording you would like displayed in the header banner;

contact details you would like displayed on the page;

any image or images that you own that you’d like to see in the header banner;

4 images that you own, in jpeg format, to display on the page;

any other details about preferred layout, navigation or usability of the page

Cost? R200

We do our best to present you with 3 choices based on the criteria and guidelines you present us with, but should you feel you require alterations to any of the 3 choices, or would like us to mix and match some of the 3 layout choices, then the price becomes R400. (This is why giving us as much information about your preferences right from the start is quite important. You may save yourself from having to pay an extra R200.)

Note: If we are designing more than just one page for you, for your site, the R200 (or R400) becomes payable before more work is done on the site.

What do you get for your R200?

3 pages designed, from which to choose your favourite one;

basic SEO (Search Engine Optimization) – title tagging of any links on your page, image alt tagging of your header banner and the 4 images, meta title, meta description, meta keywords (in the coding), and initial Search Engine submission (once the site is live on the Internet).

More often than not, also inclusion in our portfolio (with a link going to your site.)

Once the site is live, free small alteration requests for 7 days. (otherwise our usual alteration price is R75 per small alteration request per page) (2 or 3 small alterations can be requested for one page for just R75.)

Other costs for your one page starter website?

R120 to upload the site to the host server

R120 co.za domain registration (renewable yearly)

R360 hosting (renewable yearly)
This hosting includes 10meg server space (actually enough for a 4 to 10 page website if there are not too many images on the website), unlimited bandwidth, and one professional .co.za business email address.

SO, if choosing one of the 3 templates we designed for you without requesting any alterations or mixing and matching of templates, your total initial price for a one page starter website with us, TnT Unleashed, is R800 (I say “initital” because once a year you need to renew your domain and hosting.)

You may also want one of more of over 20 extra website services we offer. The prices for these extra website services can be linked to from our 1pic4twenty site on our services and prices page.

A WORDPRESS WEBSITE FROM TNT UNLEASHED

A WordPress website from us, TnT Unleashed, is just R420 per year, including .co.za domain registration and hosting, as well as upload to the host server.

Well, looking at the pricing difference between the one page starter website versus the 30 page WordPress website it seems obvious that you would rather choose the WordPress website, but go through the details first, below, and then decide.

Advantages of the WordPress website versus the one page starter website:

cheaper;

if your images are not too large, you could have up to about 30 pages of content;

the hosting package is larger (50 meg);

the hosting package includes the facility for unlimted professional .co.za business email addresses instead of just one (eg you could have info@, admin@, yourname@, accounts@, enquires@, support@ etc etc);

You don’t have to be concerned about whether or not you are going to like any of the 3 templates we design in the one page website starter package option because you get to choose from free WordPress themes, yourself, from over 1 000 free WordPress themes

Disadvantages:

Just one disadvantage, really:

For R420 per year, we do not add your content and images to your site for you; YOU DO, yourself.

This is only a disadvantage because you need to take a little time to learn how to do it yourself.

Having to add your content and images yourself is not such a great disadvantage because:

taking the time to learn how to do so only costs you time and effort, not money (other than the cost for time spent on the Internet);

it’s not that difficult to add your own content and images – just carefully going through your WordPress dashboard might be all you need to do, to learn how to add your own content and images;

you do not need to know website design coding;

we provide plenty of helpful links if you do get stuck, on our 1pic4twenty site, on the page that has more details about this R420 per year WordPress website – this page also has the order form for the WordPress website.

So, which one?

The more expensive one page starter website, where you don’t need to upload any content and images yourself

or

the about 30 page WordPress website, where you need to spend a bit of time getting used to uploading your own content and images?

You decide.

Either option means you have an affordable place to display information and images about the work from home services or products you offer.

Either option still means you need to work at getting some traffic to your website, so that more people can see and learn about the services or products you offer. 42 Free ways to advertise a website may help.
