Matrics! What are You going to Do for Money at the End of your Matric Year?

South African matrics are lucky if they already have a job lined up to begin at the end of their matric year. If not, what are most South African matrics doing about getting a job? Perhaps they’re looking for jobs for matriculants on ioL jobs, jobmail, junkmail, gumtree and any other job advertising place on the Internet.

Perhaps South African matrics can find jobs on ioL jobs, jobmail, junkmail, gumtree or other job advertising places on the Internet, but what if they can’t find any jobs for matriculants? What if by the middle of the next year after they have completed matric, matrics can still not find a job? What are matrics going to do for money?

What if matriculants are lucky enough to find a job, but the job does not pay much? What are these matriculants going to do to supplement their income? Mom and Dad can only help so much. Young people want to have fun too, not just work. And young people do not generally want to stay at home forever. And where is that job they have going? Will the income from that job be enough to pay for rent, spoiling a girlfriend or boyfriend, buying furniture for a home, and having and taking care of children?

Well, South African matrics, you can work from home. You can either work from home in your spare time to earn extra income, or you can work from home fulltime. While your work from home business grows, you can perhaps get a part time job somewhere.

What kind of work can you do from home?

Gosh, there are many ways you can earn money from home!

Is it easy to work from home? Will I have to do a lot of work?

Um?

Work is work. It’s not fun and games, unless you are really passionate about what work you do. You can’t spend forever looking for that perfect job and not earn any money in the meantime! Start somewhere. Earn a bit, and perhaps still get to your follow your dream later.

With work from home jobs, you have to be very strict with yourself. You are your own boss so you can take time off whenever you want to, but realise that working from home, for yourself, while you are not putting in any working hours, you are not earning anything. It can be really tough to work from home. Long hours, working on weekends, and dedication. Lots of learning along the way. But do also remember that the more you put in, the more you get out.

How are you going to fare in a matric exam if you do not learn anything and didn’t even pay much attention in class? How are you going to fare in a matric exam if you spent a lot of time learning for that exam, and paid a lot of attention in class?

Life after matric is the same. Pay attention, learn, work hard, and you can be rewarded. One huge difference between school and working is that school was only for 12 years. 12 years sounds incredibly long when you’re in matric, but are you really planning on dying in just 12 years from now? Life after school is so much longer than the years you spend in school. It’s up to you to make those years enjoyable.
