Freelance Jobs Available All the Time

There are freelance jobs available all the time on oDesk. These freelance jobs are online jobs suitable for people with a computer and Internet. What else do you need to get a freelance job online in South Africa?

South Africans, you don’t need much to get a freelance job online in South Africa.

But how hard you work and how determined you are to get a freelance job is of the utmost importance. Being truly desperate for work or extra income certainly helps.

But don’t let being desperate for work or extra income make you so depressed that you cannot think clearly. Rushing into trying to get freelance work online can be a huge mistake. Having many applications for freelance work online rejected can make you even more depressed, and you have to focus if you want to succeed. Even if you go about everything carefully and correctly, you can still have many freelance work online applications rejected, and you have to try not let this get you even more depressed.

It can be tough getting many applications rejected, but there’s something tougher than that: not having money.

Are you tough enough to get out of a tough situation? Are you determined enough?

Did you know that if you were already a member of oDesk and you applied for a job now, right now, in the next ten minutes, and you were invited to an “interview” (usually via email) and you were accepted for the job and it was something you could do even today, and the client paid you today, you could access that payment within 6 days?

Now don’t go rushing to join oDesk and apply for these available freelance jobs right now; it’s not that simple – unless you were already a member and have already gotten used to using the site. Getting used to the site must come first. And every minute that you’re not a member of oDesk is a minute further away from getting to that point where you can readily just apply for any freelance job of your choosing. There really are freelance jobs available all the time on oDesk.

I spent two weeks going through all the information on oDesk and getting my oDesk profile nice and ready before applying for my first job there. This was inbetween doing other work, so perhaps you could get familiar with the site in less time, or perhaps it may take you longer.

I’ve been a freelancer at oDesk for over two years now, and am so glad I pushed through the tough times and stuck it out. When work is scarce in South Africa, I can do freelance work for anyone in the world, online, through using oDesk. I don’t have to leave South Africa to look for overseas jobs. I just do that looking-for-overseas-jobs, and do that overseas work, from South Africa, from home, on oDesk.

I have just joined oDesk. It seems to be all USA based. How do you get paid? I have been browsing the site but it is nice to know someone else from SA is doing it.

Hi Sheryl – good for you! I get the impression that so many people spend too much time looking for ways to work from home or ways to make extra income but don’t do anything about it. Now, next steps. Spend at least 2 or 3 days reading through as much as you possibly can on oDesk – many people have joined oDesk under my referral link or just from me telling them about it, but then they just give up. Very few have continued to make enough of an effort to start earning some money on oDesk. It’s not easy working from home, or on oDesk, but it can be easy if you first read everything there is to know about the site.

I receive my monies from oDesk through Payoneer – but there is also a direct deposit option. Through Payoneer it works like this for me: a client on oDesk pays me for my work. I withdraw my monies from oDesk to Payoneer 6 days after the client paid me – this is a mere 2 or 3 button clicks on oDesk under the “wallet” navigation tab. Then I take my oDesk/Payoneer card, go to the ATM nearby, and draw my money! (within just a few minutes of having made my withdrawal on oDesk to Payoneer.) Easy Peasy!

The hard part about oDesk is the first part – getting to know the site inside and out before attempting to apply for jobs. Also working on your oDesk profile first to make it as good as it can be.

I earned next to nothing for my first few jobs on oDesk, really very little, but as I got more and more used to the site, and good feedback comments from clients showed up on my oDesk profile, I was able to start putting my prices up.

All the steps to take and the guidelines are right there on oDesk to go through – just take the time to do it, put in the effort, and then work hard! Good luck!

ps, there are other South Africans on oDesk too.

oh yeah, forgot, sorry – it doesn’t matter if your oDesk client lives in the U.S.A. or in the U.K. or in New Zealand. You can still work for them, right from your own home in South Africa. One of my best oDesk clients is a lawyer who lives in Florida in the U.S.
